fribourg

Today is the day I leave Ireland for fribourg the excitement in me is filling the air. After two long hours to Dublin I arrived in the airport. As I walked into terminal two I was extremely confused but found my way!

I left my family into duty free and I started to take off my jewellery when the person behind me advised me that I didn’t have too! On the flight i started talking to the girl beside me who explained a lot about Switzerland and she couldn’t get over how calm I was for my first time flying!

As the plane took off adrenaline rushes through me staring out the window watching the last sights of Ireland for three months!

Of course when I arrived in Zurich the first thing I noticed was the heat! It was a pure 17 degrees with no cloud cover at 9pm phew! It was definetly a shock.

Family:
When I first met my family I knew I was going to have a great time as they explained the jam packed weekend!

First experiences:
My first full day in Switzerland was inexplicably amazing. First the family took me to the town and showed me my new school which looks very like Hogwarts!

I then went on a walk with the parents beside a lake in the mountains! The landscape here is stunning. We then proceeded to go to a féte called lutte/estavayer where I learnt a lot about Switzerland!

To finish the day we went to a village called Murten which borders the French speaking and German speaking part of Switzerland we finished the night with a crépe what I can only describe as gorgeous.

Kayaking:
On Sunday we went kayaking in the Alps through many whirls and Rapids. If only you could picture the views I saw in person! I’ve never seen a country like it!

School:
The first day of school was quite interesting for me as I came from a small school to the biggest school in Fribourg but everyone was lovely! The school is amazing to walk around except I occasionally get lost but the people there are very helpful! My favourite part about the school is definetly the swimming pool! I’ve never seen a swimming like it!

Today my host mother gave me a challenge to find the patisserie suarrde and to buy a Carac! After school I went on my way to taste this gateau and well let me say I’ve never had something so scrumptious! The Carac consists of pastry a mint icing and soft chocolate in the centre. It was amazing!

I can’t wait for the upcoming adventures!
